HO - Host entrepreneur
-
How did you discover EYE?
I found out about the program while I was living in a foreign country and working in another organization, where my colleagues pointed out this opportunity which we actually used as well in 2017.
-
Why did you choose to participate in this programme?
I believe young people with different background and culture can in any case benefit from this opportunity as well as my organization can benefit from it at different levels such linguistic as first, going to the personal attitudes and knowledge of the young entrepreneurs.
-
When did you set up your company?
Officially at the end of 2013, as cooperation of professionals we started in 2012.
-
How many years of experience do you have?
By now it’s 7 years, spent in different organizations and countries.
-
What were your expectations before starting the programme?
I was expecting to have an experience based on sharing knowledge with a young person, willing to learn and at the same time to share his/her knowledge especially considering the complete different background from where the person is coming from.

Provide examples of activities carried out by the NE during the exchange (administrative activities, conferences, other)
Mr. Karlo Fluksi is actively and on a daily basis involved in our activities.
Lot of working time is spent working on our youth programs we run under ERASMUS+. This involves budgeting activities, preparation of promotional material, selection of participants, preparation of logistics, participation in the program, facilitation and reporting after all.
As well, Mr.Fluksi is involved in our activities at local level, which are for example local events in which he support in terms of logistics, contacting people and so on…
-
What did you learn from the exchange?
The learning process is still on going for sure, the main point is about to see certain internal process with a new perspective that only a person who is totally new to the environment can see. This comes to any level of the organization from budgeting to programming the activities on a more effective level.
-
How did the NE help?
The NE as mentioned is involved at all levels in our activities, he is supporting, learning and contributing in budgeting processes, marketing, organizing, reporting in all the activities we do, from youth programs, to local events, classes and workshops.
-
Are you going to incorporate new ideas and methods proposed by the NE?
That’s the plan yes, we still have to define how and when but he brought many good hints which we can use in the organization.
-
How will the exchange benefit the companies? New opportunities: Further partnerships? Cross-border trade?
For sure it already opened space for new partnerships and international opportunities to be added to all the support that the NE is bringing on daily bases
NE – New entrepreneur

Why did you choose to participate in the programme?
In this programme I saw great opportunity to see in practice how matters related to my business idea work and also to contribute with my skills, ideas and experience to daily business of company that works in similar or the same field. It was also the perfect opportunity to go to different countries and benefit from this experience as well.
-
Did you and when did you set up your company (if relevant)?
Not yet.
-
What were your expectations before starting the programme?
That I will be involved in many activities of the hosting company where I could see in practice and in a safe environment how things that I theoretically know, work and also that I will bring fresh ideas on how to diversify the core business with new technology and it’s possibilities.
-
How does the HE run his business? How did you actively participate in the day-to-day activities?
Host runs the business in mostly peer-to-peer way where everybody is part of the team and contribute with their skills and knowledge. Therefore, I easily found my place in the team where I can contribute with my strengths and learn and grow further in other areas. I participated in brainstorming sessions, plan and execution and I’ve had the chance to see the same project from different perspectives. Whether I was a support role while helping with logistics or decision making when selecting the participants or leader when working on implementation of my business plan.
-

What did you learn from the experience? Do you feel more confident about your business start-up? Would you encourage other would-be/new entrepreneurs to participate in the programme? What is your overall feeling about the programme?
During this experience I learned and improved my business communication as well as non-formal and also helped me to develop better cultural awareness and different working methods dependant on environment and role. Also many different technical IT skills that I used to do my tasks. I would without a doubt encourage anyone to join the programme as its opportunities and benefits are countless. Overall, this programme was very exciting and empowering on many levels both professional and personal.
